“I am confident that the education they have received will make them individuals who can and will take the time to think for themselves and inspire and lead others.”
The White Mountain Waldorf School was founded in 1984. Our school has grown from one Kindergarten to our present size on our 75-acre wooded campus, which serves an average of 80 children with 20 dedicated faculty and staff members. We offer Parent Child, Early Childhood programs, both morning and afternoon for children 2-6 years of age, and Elementary Grades 1-8. We have a warm, supportive community of families from the surrounding towns in New Hampshire and Maine. The school is located in the Mount Washington Valley, an area of incredible natural beauty. Bordering on the 700,000 acre White Mountain National Forest, the community is valued by many outdoor enthusiasts who hike, bike, ski, and rock climb. The valley supports a rural, small town lifestyle. There is also easy access to city life with Portland, Maine, 1¼ hours to the east and Boston 2½ hours south. Our extended Waldorf community consists of an Anthroposophical study group, a bio-dynamic farm, a Community Supported Agriculture group, choral and instrumental groups, and many local opportunities for meditation, yoga, dance, painting and drawing, drama and natural health care.
